Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and technically skilled Audio-Visual Pre-Sales Engineer/ Technician to support the sales team in designing and proposing integrated AV solutions for commercial and enterprise clients. This role bridges the gap between customer needs and technical execution, ensuring proposed systems are tailored, feasible, and aligned with project requirements and budgets.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with sales representatives and clients to understand AV requirements, site conditions, and project goals.
  • Develop AV system designs, schematics, and scope-of-work documents.
  • Provide technical consultation during the sales cycle, including product recommendations, system integration strategies, and technical presentations.
  • Achieve a monthly sales target of Kshs. 10,000,000
  • Prepare and deliver solution proposals, bill of materials (BOMs), and detailed cost estimates.
  • Liaise with vendors and internal engineering teams to validate designs and pricing.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and proof-of-concept sessions as needed.
  • Stay current with AV industry trends, emerging technologies, and manufacturer products.
  • Assist in responding to RFPs and RFQs with detailed technical input.
  • Support handoff to post-sales engineering and project management teams, ensuring design intent is preserved during implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (2–5 years) in a similar AV design, integration, or pre-sales role.
  • Strong understanding of AV systems, including video conferencing,video wall, audio systems, digital signage, control systems, and networked AV.
  • Familiarity with AV equipment from major manufacturers (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Cisco, Biamp, Shure).
  • Ability to read and create technical drawings (CAD, Visio, or similar tools).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
